FlashFacts App Reviews

Works Great! Fantastic app! Wonderful customer service!

I’ve been using FlashFacts on my Mac for a year, and have recently been syncing it to my iphone. This app works great for me, and I believe it has been a large component of my success on my nursing school tests. My husband is in school, too, and he has purchased the app on his Mac and iphone, and likes it. I love that I can toggle back and forth between cards by using the “Command" & arrow keys, as it saves a lot of time. Anytime I’ve had questions or problems, Tyler has always responded quickly to my e-mails. The new upgrade (1.9) was a little scary, as for a moment I thought I had lost my flashcards when trying to set up the icloud automatic syncing option. Tyler came to the rescue within minutes of me sending an e-mail, and walked me through how to get everything working properly—and it is working more efficient than before. Love the new on-line option, too, because that means I can use my flashcards on my iPad. Thanks so much!

This is a great app. Very simple to use and it works great.

I tried. I really did.

After wasting so many hours of my life to this ap, trying to recover lost files, getting frustrated, trying multiple updated versions thinking the bug would be fixed…. im throwing in the towel. This ap is horrible. please save yourself the gut wrenching feeling when you update your version and the hundreds of cards you made are gone. Im over it. With all of that out there, I will say that the customer service was great but sadly did not make up for the horrible functioning and storage of data in this ap.

Does exactly what it claims

I only asked two things: it sync to all my devices and it flash cards at me for memorization. It did both fine. Not setting the world on fire, but if it did any more it would be too complicated. Given that I can’t see how i could give it less than five stars. It accomplishes everything I asked of it.

Great flash card problem. Supports non-Roman Characters

I got the free version and started to build a deck of cards in order to study Hebrew vocabulary. The first thing I noticed was that the program supported not only Hebrew but the vowel markings also. Basically what you can type, you can put on a card. This is HUGE for students of foreign languages that use diacritical marks or non-Roman characters. So I decided to upgrade. When I did, the automatic transfer from the free version to the upgraded version didn’t work, but I wrote Tyler and got a manual way to do it within a few hours. I did the transfer manually with no problem. I sent my deck to iCloud and synced it with the iPhone version, again seamlessly. I am having a few minor issues with the sync being accurate, but its a minor quibble. I can study my vocabulary on my iPhone easily. I cannot find a “quit” button for the iPhone. I am not sure how the Online deck submission works. I can submit but not sure how to find it. I guess Tyler just needs to write a good “how to book” though the online instructions are good. All in all, I WOULD RECOMMEND this program because the others do not meet my needs.

Crashed the night before two exams

I have two midterms tomorrow. This app has crashed on me before, and I was using it just a bit before closing it tonight (for the last time) and this time - it has flat out stopped working. I’ve tried everything a few times over - uninstalling and re-installing, shutting down my computer, restarting it, looking to the internet for help. Nothing. It won’t even open. And guess what? ALL OF MY STUDY MATERIAL WAS IN IT. A WEEK’S WORTH OF EXTREMELY DENSE READING, STUDYING, AND CONVERTING SAID DENSE READING INTO SIMPLE FLASHCARDS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO MAKE MY LIFE EASIER WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO ACTUALLY PRACTICING THE MATERIAL. NO WAY IN I’M GOING TO HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO RE-MAKE THEM IN ANOTHER APP. Thanks a lot, FlashFacts. Would not recommend.
